who is your Enemy

Robotic multimedia installation
2019
Bionic ultrasonic radar detection, SLAM system, RPS laser positioning, etc., which were originally used as military navigation technology, have entered the home environment and became the core technology of robot vacuums—which are generally considered to be safe and harmless. The violent nature rooted in its technology has always been around when the robot was doing home cleaning, and it has become a lingering war ghost.
By using wireless positioning system, in this installation, the location data of robot vacuums is synced to their avatars in real-time. Therefore, while the robot vacuums perform the cleaning task, the avatars controlled by the robot vacuums patroll on the virtual battleground built by the artist based on the satellite map of the real battlefield (their native environments), detecting, colliding, cleaning and expelling each other.
Who is your enemy? Is it the pet hair in the living room, or the enemy tank in Afghanistan battlefield? Perhaps robot vacuums are often confused by the drastic transformation of their identities.
